Weekday Visit Opportunities

Experiencing our campus firsthand is a great way to help you decide if Illinois Tech could be your future university. Take advantage of the day and choose the activities that best fit your needs.

Admission Counselor Appointments are designed to give you an opportunity to talk with an admission counselor individually about the application process and general Illinois Tech questions. These are not interviews and are not required as part of the admissions process, although they may be extremely beneficial to you in the search process to learn more about the university and have your detailed questions answered.

Campus Tours are led by our student ambassadors to show you around campus and include a residence hall, campus center, classroom overview, and the library. The walking tours last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Lunch with current students for a free bite in our all-you-can-eat on-campus dining hall The Commons. Lunch is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and students are available throughout that time to join you for lunch.

Sit in on a class, talk to a professor, or meet with an athletic coach. These extra activities require some advance notice and may not be available every day, but we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

We offer the following appointment and tour times*:

9:15 a.m. - Admission Counselor Appointment
10 a.m. - Campus Tour
11:15 a.m. - Admission Counselor Appointment
11:30 a.m. - Lunch with Current Students
1:15 p.m. - Admission Counselor Appointment
2 p.m. - Campus Tour

Overnight Visits

Immerse yourself in the day to day life of an Illinois Tech student! Stay overnight with a student host to learn what it's like to be a part of our community. You will experience living in one of our residence halls, eating in The Commons and meeting numerous current students. You can choose to go on a campus tour, speak with an admissions counselor, shadow a class or even meet with a professor. This option is only available to current high school seniors or transfer students.

Special Events

Get a deeper look at Illinois Tech when you attend one of our special admissions events on campus. Several times each semester, we host a full day of events for prospective students to get to know Illinois Tech, meet students and faculty, attend a Q&A session, explore our majors, tour campus, and learn more about career services and athletics.
Registration for these events typically open six weeks prior to the event.
