The Department of Social Sciences invites area high school students to gain a deeper understanding of their city’s politics, society, and economic development. Through guided field trips, presentations by Illinois Tech faculty and local experts, hands-on activities, and group discussions, we will get beneath the surface of everyday events to learn more about how the city works. Who makes the big decisions? How do neighborhoods grow and change? What should we know about the past and present of the city’s economy? How can you be involved in its future?
Chicagoland is your home. It can also be your classroom!
This program is now closed. We'll be accepting applications for the Summer 2020 session in the spring.
