All degree-seeking applicants (excepting only those eligible for the GRE waiver) are required to submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. Note that most IIT Stuart programs accept either the GRE or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
Applicants to the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology program, must also submit the GRE Psychology subject test.
GRE and GMAT scores are considered valid for five years from the testing date. If your scores are more than five years old at the time your application is reviewed, new scores will be required.
The GRE requirement is waived for applicants to professional master's degree programs (Architecture programs are not included) who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the United States with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher. Applicants applying to the Stuart School of Business masters programs must have 5+ years work experience to qualify for a GRE/GMAT waiver; the faculty will make that decision upon reviewing your resume and transcripts.
If you believe you meet this qualification, you must contact us to request this waiver. Once you have uploaded your official undergraduate transcripts (and resume for business programs) for verification we will review your request. After you submit an application, in your "App Tracker" you will see the test score requirement as "waived" once and if you received the waiver.
Minimum Score Requirements
The chart below shows minimum scores required for admission consideration. GRE requirements are subject to change, so please reference the Graduate Bulletin or your academic department's website for the most up-to-date information.
If your scores do not meet these minimum requirements, we encourage you to consider retaking the exam.
