We have many ways to check out campus and experience life as a student. Please register ahead of time so we can prepare the best experience for you while on campus. Discover Illinois Tech Days

For an in-depth look at Main Campus, academic programs, campus life, and the admission and financial aid processes, a Discover Illinois Tech Day is a great time to visit.

Weekday Visit Opportunities

Individual Visits

We encourage students to visit as part of the college search process! We offer the following visit schedule* for prospective students:

9:15 a.m. - Admission Counselor Appointment
10 a.m. - Campus Tour
11:15 a.m. - Admission Counselor Appointment
11:30 a.m. - Lunch with Current Students
1:15 p.m.Admission Counselor Appointment
2 p.m. - Campus Tour
3:15 p.m.
Admission Counselor Appointment

Admission Counselor Appointments are designed to give you an opportunity to talk with an admission counselor individually about the application process and general Illinois Tech questions. These are not interviews and are not required as part of the admissions process, although they may be extremely beneficial to you in the search process.

Campus Tours are led by our student ambassadors to show you around campus and will include: a residence hall, campus center, classroom overview, Idea Shop, and the library. The walking tours last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Join current students for a free lunch in our all-you-can-eat on-campus dining hall, The Commons. Lunch is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., students are available throughout that time to accompany you to lunch.

*Visits During Spring Break - During the weeks of March 27, April 3, and April 10 we will have a modified schedule in order to accommodate an increased number of visitors to campus. During these weeks, we will feature group admission presentations and campus tours only:

Admitted students who wish to visit during this time, but would like to meet individually with a counselor should register here.

Transfer Connection

Thinking of making the transition to Illinois Tech? Interested in understanding how to navigate the transfer admission process? Connect with us on selected Thursdays when the Office of Undergraduate Admission will remain open until 7 p.m., to better accommodate the busy schedules of our prospective transfer students. We welcome you to stop in and say hello. If you have any questions or would like to talk to an admission counselor, we'd be happy to meet with you between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. There will also be an additional campus tour at 4 p.m. on these days.

Saturday Visit

On select Saturdays, the Office of Undergraduate Admission will provide a student-led campus tour and admission and financial aid presentation. The day will begin at 10 a.m. and will conclude by 12:30 p.m.

Overnight Visits – NightHawk Program

Overnights are offered Monday – Thursday from January 23 to April 20, except on February 8, February 9, March 29, and March 30.

What is there to do?

Will I meet other students?

All hosts are current undergraduate IIT students. They had many of your same questions and concerns as high school students. We encourage you to ask them about their own college search process and experiences.

What are the rules?

As an IIT guest, you are expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the university, which are designed to build a friendly, caring, and safe atmosphere. When staying in a residence hall, all of the rules and regulations that apply to IIT students will apply to you.

Overnight visits are only available for seniors in high school and those looking to transfer for the upcoming semester.

What does it cost?

Your residence hall accommodations and meals are free. We encourage you to bring some money for any activities or entertainment in which you might participate with your host.
