The application fee for graduate programs in IIT is $60. Please note that the application fee for Stuart School of Business is $75. The application fee may be paid (a) by credit card or Paypal account when prompted at the end of the online application process, (b) by credit card through the IIT Student Accounting Office payment website, or (c) by check or money order made payable to Illinois Institute of Technology and mailed to the Office of Graduate Admissions. For the most expedient processing, we recommend option (a). If you choose to pay by check or money order, please specify the fee amount in U.S. dollars (USD). Other currencies cannot be accepted.
The application fee is waived for applicants who have been enrolled at IIT in the past or who attend an IIT graduate open house event within a year of applying. IIT alums, please visit the MyIIT Portal to access a waiver code to have the application fee waived. The code is on the "Academics" tab in the "Graduate Admission - Student" channel. If you graduated from IIT before spring 2009, or if you don't have an active IIT email, please see the "Transcripts" section below for instructions on how to request an IIT email and portal account.
Uploading transcripts or individual mark sheets
Prior to submitting your application, you will be required to upload one copy of your scanned transcript or individual mark sheets from each institution that you attended regardless if a degree was earned or not.
If you have transcripts from IIT please visit the MyIIT portal to obtain a copy of your transcripts. Once you've logged in using your MyIIT username and password proceed to the "Academics" tab and then the "Banner Student Self Service" channel. Click "Student Records" and on the following screen "View Unofficial Transcript." Choose your transcript level and transcript type and click "Submit." Your IIT transcript should appear. To obtain a PDF of your transcript you may either take a screen shot of the transcript and save it as a PDF or print out the transcript and scan it to create a PDF. Finally, before uploading your PDF please review it to make sure that all the course and grade information is visible.
Please do not mail your official transcripts to us unless you have received an offer of admission from Illinois Institute of Technology. Please note that nonlegible scans will not be accepted. Make sure your scanned documents are legible before uploading, as nonlegible documents will result in processing delays.
The process for uploading documents
- Scan a copy of your official and original paper transcripts, individual mark sheets, or electronic transcript provided to you from your institution’s Registrar. Do NOT upload your institution's web-based academic record or a document stating it is not an official transcript. Please note attested copies are not acceptable and will delay processing time. You must include an official English translation if your official transcripts are not issued in English.
- Make sure that all critical and identifying marks have been scanned and are legible. These include the institution's name, your name, and the names of your courses and the grades you have received. It is important that you scan both the front and back (if there is information on the back) of your documents: we will need to be able to review the information provided on the back of your documents concerning credit hours, the institution's grading scale, etc.
- All files MUST be inPDF format.
For complete document upload instructions please visit the document upload instructions page.
